If you’re planning a trip to the beach to refresh and rejuvenate yourself, be sure to bring some essentials with you. We’ve included 8 items we feel are either important or simply fun to bring along in your tote beach bag. Feel free to add your favorite must-haves to our list!
Sunscreen With A High Enough SPF
Even if it’s a cloudy day, you have to protect your skin against UV rays. At a minimum, your sunscreen should have an SPF of 15. But you know your own skin and how sensitive it is to the sun. If you need sunscreen with an SPF of 30 or higher, be sure to toss it into your tote beach bag before you walk out the door.
Protective Sunglasses In A Case
Your eyes also need protection against the sun’s UV rays, and that’s where sunglasses come in. They also protect you against glare, which both the sand and the water can magnify. Wear your sunglasses to avoid eyestrain. When you’re not using them, keep them in a protective case.
A Couple Of Masks
If you’re lucky, you’ll have the beach all to yourself! You can’t count on that, though, so be sure to bring a couple of masks in case you run into people. Masks are light and can easily blow away on a windy day at the beach, which is why it’s a good idea to bring two or more just in case one gets lost.
Sturdy Water Bottle
At some point you’ll need to hydrate yourself, so be sure to include your favorite sturdy water bottle in your beach tote. You may even want a tote beach bag and water bottle that match! At Beachcomber Footwear, we offer great beach accessories in bright colors and fun patterns. For starters, check out our cute flamingo tote bag and matching stainless steel water bottle with its easy-carry handle.
Hair Ties Or Headband
Have you ever been at the beach when the wind won’t stop whipping your hair around? It’s not much fun! To avoid this annoyance, throw a few hair ties, headbands, or head scarfs into your tote beach bag. That way, if the wind kicks up, you’ll be ready.
After holding on to handrails on piers and boardwalks, picking up seashells others may have touched, or maybe even eating a snack, you’ll want to sanitize your hands. Bring a sturdy bottle with the cap on firmly so that sanitizer doesn’t leak into your beach tote.
If you’re just planning to walk along the beach, bring a small towel with you to brush sand off before getting back into your vehicle. A towel will also come in handy should you decide to tip your toes into the water.
Pocket-Sized Beach Blanket
These blankets fold up beautifully, enabling you to easily tuck one into your tote beach bag. Unfolded, pocket-sized beach blankets provide a large area for you to relax on.
